A little about J

Hi, I’m Jalissa. Most people call me J. If you’d like to give the full name a try, it’s Melissa with a J. It was mispronounced so often growing up that J stuck. And honestly, I like it.

Between the Folds is where my art and writing come together. I make things worth keeping, share stories that I hope make you feel understood, and create little ways to pass encouragement along.

Have a question about Mail It Forward, a print, or an order? Leave me a message below. I’m happy to help.

Let's talk nicely.

Since we’re here…

I’ve been making art since I was a kid.
Red will probably show up somewhere. Always.
I can overthink a font for an unreasonable amount of time.
I love a good plot twist.
I make things because I cannot leave an idea alone.
I’m usually somewhere between very organized and absolutely winging it.
I believe ordinary things deserve a little more personality.
